2.3 Automatic Pilot KFC 325
Climb:
Autopilot is not to be used in VS mode during climb. The only acceptable
modes are pitch and indicated airspeed hold (IAS) mode. IAS is the preferred
mode once the flaps have been retracted.
There is no need to use VS for a smooth level off as the ALT capture logic
allows for high rates of climb and descent.
Flap Extension:
Flaps can be extended and retracted while the AP is engaged and
maximum flap extension is 18°.
Minimum Engagement Altitude:
The autopilot is not to be engaged until the flaps are retracted after takeoff at
a minimum of 400 feet AGL.
The Autopilot must be disengaged
•
at 200 feet AGL for ILS approaches
•
at 300 feet AGL for non-precision approaches
•
Below 1000 feet AGL for visual approaches
.
Altitude Select captures below 1000 feet AGL are prohibited.
