4.7Concept of Ground and Air checklist
The L410 on the ground can only be controlled by the Captain, therefore all checklist prior take-
off and after landing are carried out by the FO. Captain will call the appropriate checklist and
the FO will read it. Most of the ground checklists are challenge and response, except when
certain items are positioned on the side panel next to either the FO or the Captain.
The only exception to this rule is the after landing checklist, where there are no critical items and
therefore the FO does the flow and then reads the checklist after Captain instruction.
4.8 Before Start
Call and Response.
Before engine start both crew will make sure that the propeller area is clear. Engine start is
normally accomplished by the pilot seating on the left hand seat, however at Captain
discretion, the FO can also carry out the start procedures.
