5.14 Definitions:
Terrain Switch:
Must always be in NORMAL except in airports which are not in
the database and would thus cause an immediate TERRAIN warning after liftoff.
Navigation:
CDI .................... (GPS/ VOR) and Intial Course
BRG 1 ................ (NAV 1/ 2/ GPS/ None) and frequency if app)
BRG 2 ................ (NAV 1/ 2/ GPS/ None) and frequency if app)
Initial Alt ............. eg 9,500 feet (as read on AMS)
Squawk ............. Assigned or in absence select 1200 (VFR)
Eg. “CDI GPS, intial course 083, BRG 1 Nav 1 113.0 tuned and identified, BRG 2Nav 2 with 113.0,
initial altitude 7000 feet squawk 4234.”
Bluesky:
All Bluesky units are connected to the battery bus and are active withthe master switch.
The First Officer or Captain should input the flight plan herebefore or after engine start. Normally
the FO will set up the bluesky unit.
