The
WX radar
shall be selected to standby before commencing taxi. The WXradar
shall be turned to standby whenever not required (VMC).
When using the weather radar, enable WATCH® and Weather Alerts and may be
overlaid on the map display. For moreinformation on these features refer to the
GTN725/750Pilots Guide.
The map display with
TAWS
overlay shall be selected whenever in IMC and
notusing the weather radar.
3.9.1MAP Displays
The map page is used to provide situational awareness in flight. The electronic
map is an aid to navigation and it is designed to facilitate the use of authorized
government charts, not replaced them. Land and water data is provided only as
general reference. The accuracy of the land and water data is not suitable for
use as a primary source of naviation and should only be used to supplement
official government charts and notices.
The map mode should be used to the maximum extent practicable. The
mapdisplay provides a plan view of the approach, including final approach
andmissed approach routing.
3.9.2 Navaid Identification
All Navaids must be identified before use. It is acceptable to visually identify
navaids. If visual identification is not possible, aural identification is necessary.
