User Manual 3153
Using The Instrument 3-23
LCOMplete
Generates a sync signal in SEQ mode only once when the
selected segment appears for the first time in the sequence. The identity
of the segment can be programmed using the TRAC:SEL command.
The sync position along the selected waveform can be programmed
using the OUTPUT:SYNC:POS command. The LCOM signal is
recommended for use in Sequenced mode.
SSYNc
Generates a sync signal at intervals that are synchronized
with the internal clock generator. This option is useful for minimizing jitter
when using an oscilloscope. The SSYNc signal is recommended for use
in Triggered mode.
SREPetition
Generates a sync signal at the start of each wave
segment repetition within a sequence.
SEGment
Generates a sync at the start of the first repetition of each
wave segment within a sequence.
The query:
OUTPut:SYNC:SOURce?
queries the signal source for the SYNC output and returns BIT, LCOM,
SSYN, SREP or SEG.
Selecting the SYNC
Position
The SYNC output can be programmed to output the SYNC signal at any
point along the output waveform. This function is available in USER and
SEQ modes only. Use the following command to select the SYNC output
position:
OUTPut:SYNC:POSition <value>
The SYNC position can be selected from point 0 to the last point of the
active waveform. SYNC position has to be programmed for each
segment. The default SYNC position is at the beginning of the segment
or waveform.
The query:
OUTPut:SYNC:POSition?
queries the output SYNC position and returns an integer value.
Setting the SYNC
Width
The width of the SYNC output pulse can be programmed to any width
from 4 to 800 points by setting the width parameter to 1 to 200. This is
because the setting resolution is 4 points. Use the following command
to select the SYNC pulse width:
OUTPut:SYNC:WIDTh <value>
For example, if you load a 1000 point waveform and use sample clock
of 1Msa/s, the command:
OUTPut:SYNC:WIDTh 50
generates a sync width output of 50 x 4 x 1
