User Manual 3153
Using The Instrument 3-17
Figure 3-4, WaveCAD Control Panel for Trigger Mode
Triggered Mode
In Triggered mode, the output remains at a certain DC level as long as
the TRIG IN signal from the front panel remains inactive. The trigger
input is sensitive to either a rising edge or a falling edge. Each time a
transition at the trigger input occurs, the Model 3153 generates one
complete output waveform. At the end of the output cycle, the output
resumes position at a DC level that is equal to the amplitude of the last
point of the waveform.
The Triggered mode operates on standard waveforms and arbitrary
waveforms. Observe the limitations of the trigger signal as listed in the
specification section of this manual. To place the Model 3153 in
Triggered mode, use the following command:
INITitiate:CONTinuous {OFF | ON}
OFF places the instrument in Triggered mode. ON restores continuous
operation.
The query:
INITitiate:CONTinuous?
queries the instrument operating mode parameter and returns "0" (OFF)
or "1" (ON).
There are a few things to consider when placing one or more channels
in triggered mode:
