CONFIGURING The INSTRUMENT
Installation
Overview
This chapter contains information and instructions necessary to prepare
the Model 3153 for operation. Details are provided for initial inspection,
grounding safety requirements, repackaging instructions for storage or
shipment, logical address selection and installation information.
Unpacking and
Initial Inspection
Unpacking and handling of the generator requires normal precautions
and procedures applicable to handling of sensitive electronic equipment.
The contents of all shipping containers should be checked for included
accessories and certified against the packing slip to determine that the
shipment is complete.
Safety
Precautions
The following safety precautions should be observed before using this
product and associated computer. Although some instruments and
accessories would normally be used with non-hazardous voltages, there
are situations where hazardous conditions may be present.
This product is intended for use by qualified persons who recognize
shock hazards and are familiar with the safety precautions required to
avoid possible injury. Read the operating information carefully before
using the product.
Exercise extreme caution when a shock hazard is present. Lethal voltage
may be present on cables, connector jacks, or test fixtures. The
American National Standard Institute (ANSI) states that a shock hazard
exists when voltage levels greater than 30V RMS, 42.4V peak or 60 VDC
are present.
