14.2 Setting Help
The AX40 features the following three support functions to support for making the various settings.
Focal Adjustment
Aperture Adjustment
This feature makes it easy to properly adjust the focus of the imported inspection
images and the aperture of the lens. You can make aperture adjustment only in
the gray memory.
I/O Monitor
This feature allows you to make sure to check if the input/output terminals of the
AX40 are surely connected with the external device.
14.2.1 Making Focal and Aperture Adjustments
To make focal adjustment:
1. Adjust the position of the camera to display the
inspection object or the object with feature on the
monitor screen.
2. Select "INFO." > "Setting Help" > "Focus" or
"Aperture" from the menu bar.
3. Move the yellow rectangle to the feature position. Set the start position first, then the end
point.
4. Turn the focus ring in the right or left direction until it stops and press the ENTER key.
5. Turn in the opposite direction until it stops and press the ENTER key.
6. Keep turning the focus (aperture) ring until "OK" is displayed in the status display area.
A level bar showing Focus/Iris percentage is displayed in the status display Area.
7. When "OK" is displayed, stop turning the focus ring and then press the ENTER key.
Try to stop turning the focus ring when the level bar moves to nearly 100 %.
Now focal adjustment is completed.
The focal adjustment function is available for the images of the camera selecting only gray. The
function is deactivated if Extraction is specified to either Memory 1 or Memory 2.
