Simple Mode
The region of interest appears on the screen in an active state with anchor points on the sides and
corners. The ROI can be grabbed using the mouse and can be moved and resized as required.
Sizing the ROI reduces the amount of pixel area the decode tool has to search in. This make the tool
much faster and robust since it does not have to consider all of the other possible code positions within
the whole image. This is key, especially when using the V440-F 5MP sensor, to optimize decode times.
Note:
The individual decode tools can be selected either by clicking on the Radio button in the dialog
box, or by clicking on their Region of Interest within the image. When selected, the system will start
decoding within that ROI. If the selection is inside of another image, that image will be first be acquired
automatically, and then decoding will start.
Clicking the database entry icon for any given database entry allows you to change the
Configuration
Database
mode.
There are three
Configuration Database
modes:
• Standard Mode
– This is a general symbology tool. It can be used to decode any number of
symbols within the ROI.
• Matrix Mode
– In this mode, the Configuration Database entry is decoding a matrix as defined by
the
Matrix Mode
setup tool. There can only be one matrix defined for the system, but multiple
database entries can be used for the the one matrix so you can vary all the standard image and
decode variables as you would for an indivual symbol. The system works its way through all
entries until all codes in all cells are decoded. The system then compiles these into a single result.
• Unique ID Mode
– This is also a general symbology tool, but is typically used to label one particular
symbol with a unique identifier. Labeling individual codes is a very useful tool when setting up
Formatted Output
with a particular output order.
Note:
Unique ID
labels must not be included in other
Window of Interest (WOI)
or
Matrix Mode
cells.
