Introduction
Information for operators, key operators, system administrators
The Océ VarioPrint
®
2100/2110 supports three types of print jobs, based on the
spool, RIP and print stages of the printing process. This printing process is as
follows.
1.
When you send a print job to the Océ VarioPrint
®
2100/2110 through your printer
driver, the print job is first put into a temporary, digital storage area. This part of the
process resembles the spooling of a thread, hence the term spooling.
2.
Next, the stored information is converted into images that the printer can print. This
part of the process is called RIPPING (Raster Image Processing).
3.
Finally, the converted information is printed.
Normally, the printing process starts after the RIPPING process finishes. The print
jobs do not appear in the job queue until the print part of the process starts. The Océ
VarioPrint
®
2100/2110, however, also supports jobs that are ripped and printed at the
same time. Moreover, you can see the jobs early in the printing process. When a job
starts to spool, the job is already visible in the job queue. The Océ VarioPrint
®
2110
also supports streaming jobs.
Note:
If you want to use the streaming feature on an Océ VarioPrint
®
2100, you
need a separate licence for streaming.
Note:
You can define a different input channel or port for each print job type. Access
the Océ VarioPrint
®
2100/2110 Settings Editor on the Océ Smart Imager in the
system administrator mode to set the input channels.
The status of your print job
The status of your print job is shown through icons, in the mailbox and the memory.
The table below shows which icons are used.
