Call Transfer
There are two types of call transfers:
•
Supervised Transfer
•
Blind Transfer
The common way to perform a consultation transfer is as follows:
In the transfer scenario there are three parties:
A - transferring, B - transferred, C - transferred to.
a
A Calls B.
b
B answers.
c
A presses the hook flash and puts B on hold (party B will hear a hold tone)
d
A dials C.
e
After A completed dialing C, A can perform the transfer by hanging up his phone.
f
After the transfer is completed B and C parties are engaged in a call.
The transfer can be initiated at any of the following stages of the call between A to C:
a
Just after completing dialing C phone number - Transfer from setup.
b
While hearing ring back - Transfer from alert.
c
While speaking to C - Transfer from active.
A Blind transfer is performed after we have a call between A and B, and A party decides to
transfer the call to C immediately without speaking with C.
The result of the transfer is a call between B and C (just like a supervision transfer only skipping
the consulting stage).
The VoIP Gateway can not initiate a blind transfer, but they can participate in such transfer as B
and C parties.
Call Forward
There are three kinds of call forwards:
•
Immediate (CFAC) — Any incoming call is forwarded immediately and unconditionally.
•
Busy (CFB) — Incoming call is forwarded if the endpoint is busy.
•
No reply (CFNA) — The incoming call is forwarded if it was not answered for a specified
time.
There are three parties participating in call forward:
•
Served party — the party that is configured to forward the call.
