Setting up the VoIP Gateway – Fast Start parameters

For manual answer lines, set the Play Ringback Tone to IP parameter to Play.
2 For auto answer lines, set the Play Ringback Tone to IP parameter to Don’t Play.

Set the Progress Indicator to IP parameter to Not Configured.
4 Set the Play Ringback Tones to Tel parameter to Don’t Play.

Set the Send Media Information in Connect parameter to No.
This ensures that it is sent at Alerting

Set the Open Media on Connect parameter to No.
This ensures that a media path is opened at Alerting, allowing the far end generated ring back
tones to be received at the source gateway.
Setting up the VoIP Gateway – H.323 parameters
1 Set the Connection Mode parameter to Fast start.
2 Set the Enable DTMF over H.245 parameter to Yes.
Inband DTMF not reliable with codecs other than G.711.
3 For the Coder Name parameters, select the codec depending on bandwidth considerations.
4 In the Max Digits In Phone Number parameter, enter the longest expected dialing digit
length. The VoIP Gateway waits for this number of digits or a timeout before setting up the
call. You can also use # to close the dial sequence.
5 Set the Enable Caller ID parameter to Yes.
