Upgrading the software on the VoIP Gateway
For each software load (.CMP file), there is a corresponding configuration file (.INI file). To save
your current VoIP Gateway configuration, you must save the INI file before you replace the CMP
file.
Use the following procedure upgrade the VoIP Gateway software and keep your VoIP Gateway
configuration.

Backup the VoIP Gateway configuration.
Use the procedure described in
“Backing up the VoIP Gateway configuration” on page 137
.

Load the new software file onto the VoIP Gateway.
Use the procedure described in
“Loading the software file” on page 136
.

Restore the VoIP Gateway configuration.
Use the procedure described in
“Restoring the VoIP Gateway configuration” on page 138
.

Load the new Coefficient data file onto the VoIP Gateway.
Use the procedure described in
“Loading a configuration file” on page 137
.

Load the new Tones data file onto the VoIP Gateway.
Use the procedure described in
“Loading a configuration file” on page 137
.

Use the web interface to configure any new features of the new software.
Loading the software file

Ensure software CMP file is in a folder on the computer you are using to access the web
interface.

Access the web interface.

Click the Software Upgrade button.

Click the HTTP Download tab.
The HTTP Download screen appears.

Click the Browse button that is in the Send CMP File box.

Navigate to the folder that contains the CMP file you want to load.

Click the CMP file and click the Open button.
The filename and path of the file appears in the box beside the Browse button.

Click the Send File button that is beside the Send CMP File box.

After the file has completed loading, the VoIP Gateway automatically restarts.
Note:
If you want to configure the new features by editing the INI file, edit the INI
file you backed up and then restore the edited file.
