b. Enter the number of seconds for moisture and opacity
sensors (four seconds recommended).
The read times reflect the values used to calibrate the listed sensors.
Ensure that the correct calibration data is being called up.
2. Perform sensor stability testing:
a. Set up stability data on the sensor verification display (a
typical setup includes 30 references at intervals of 30 –60
seconds).
b. Verify the resulting data against the sensor specifications
found in the appropriate sensor manual.
3. Verify samples:
a. For basis weight sensors, shoot Mylar transfers, using a
grade with a KCM of 1.0. Enter the lab value from the
Transfer Verification sheet contained in the Calibration Data
Package supplied with the system.
b. For moisture sensors, verify bagged samples or glass
samples. The basis weight must be entered for each sample
contained in the Calibration Data Package. Check that the
correct grade code is used. Bagged moisture samples must
be re-weighed and moisture values must be recalculated
each time they are used.
c. For ash sensors, verify product samples. Enter the basis
weight for each sample contained in the Calibration Data
Package. Check that the correct product code is used.
d. For opacity sensors, shoot product samples. Check that the
correct product code is used. Verify against the calibration
lab values found in the calibration data package.
e. For color sensors, shoot samples on tile 0 (zero), 5, and 7; if
fluorescence is being used, include tile 6. Verify against L, a,
and b values in the Calibration Data Package.
