6.6.3. Sheet guide heater circuitry
In combination with the air wipe system in the heads and a thermistor in
the sheet guides, the sheet guide heaters maintain the guides at a stable
temperature. The sheet guide heaters help prevent water condensation on
the guides and sensor windows as the heads move between areas that are
heated to different levels.
As well as being ON all the time, or OFF all the time, the sheet guide
heaters can be turned ON only when the heads are offsheet. This option is
set using jumper W1 on the Termination Board.

6.6.4. Ash sensor safety interlock
Ash sensor operation differs from that of the Basis Weight (nuclear)
sensor. The radiation beam can be stopped by removing power or by
closing the shutter. The Ash sensor is an X-ray source.
When power is removed, the ash shutter is normally open. In this
situation, the combination green lamp for B/W and Ash shutters closed
will not light, even if the BW shutter is closed.
6.6.4.1.
Radiation fault/protect board
The Radiation Fault/Protect board is used in conjunction with X-ray
sensors to activate the redundant radiation status indicators and to detect
source failure. Fault conditions disable Ash sensor power.
This board is supplied as an option within the remote PMP and included
when an X-ray gauge is present.
