Each of these activities is described in further detail in this chapter.

2.1. Obtaining the latest scanner installation

drawings

The first step to installing the Precision Platform is to obtain the most
recent version of the Precision Platform installation drawings. These
drawings will include the most recent dimensions and specifications for
installation and should be used when preparing the site for installation.

The latest drawing set is shipped with the system. All Honeywell Field
Project Managers have direct internet access to sites where drawings are
stored. Drawings can also be obtained from the Technical Assistance
Center (TAC).

2.2. Choosing a scanner location

Before selecting the installation location for a Precision Platform, take into
consideration:

•

the safety for those working around the scanner including
operators and service personnel

•

the appropriate location on the machine to measure the desired
parameters for observation and successful control
