•
Use materials and installation procedures that satisfy the
specifications of NEC Article 318 (or its local equivalent).
•
Do not use non-metallic cable tray or ducting.
•
Ground the cable tray system throughout its entire length.
•
Do not expose the cable tray system to harsh environmental
conditions, including hazardous chemicals, high temperatures,
steam, water, or direct sunlight.
•
Protect the cable tray system from mechanical damage and
abrasion.
•
Support all cables in the cable tray system that are terminated to
the Honeywell system.
Additional requirements and/or instructions for cable tray installation
are:
•
Interconnecting cables must be suitable for use on cable tray
systems and satisfy the requirements of NEC Article 725 for
Class 2 and Class 3 circuits.
•
Honeywell cables cannot be run in the same cable tray system
as Class 1 power, lighting, and control cables.
•
Route trays carrying Honeywell cables as far away as practical
from Class 1 power, lighting, and control cables, as well as from
cables carrying frequently-switched, fluctuating heavy currents
such as motor, generator, discharge lighting, or inductive
heating.
•
Honeywell cables may be run in the same tray system as plant
instrumentation or communication cables if cables do not
produce radiated electrical interference, either continuously or
of a pulsed nature (such as master time-clock system wiring).
•
When it is necessary to run Honeywell cables parallel to Class 1
power cables, maintain the minimum separation shown in Table
2-1.
