
RUDDER
General
The rudder is mounted on a torque tube and is
connected to the vertical stabilizer at four
hinge points. It is connected via cables, pul-
leys and bellcranks to two sets of rudder ped-
als in the cockpit (Figure 15-10). One cable
circuit is routed to the aft rudder sector along
the bottom of the airplane and one cable cir-
cuit is routed along the top for separation in
the rotor burst area . The rudder has a trim tab
attached to the trailing edge of the rudder
(Figures 15-10 and 15-11). The rudder can
also be positioned by a yaw servo which is used
by the yaw damper and rudder boost systems.
The yaw damper switch is located on the flight
guidance control panel (FGC).
On aircraft 45-005 thru 45-225 with SB 45-55-
6, and aircraft 45-226 & subsequent, the rud-
