STRUT BEARINGS
Check the strut bearing for axial or radial movement. Replace
the bearing if lateral movement is detected in any direction.

SPRING
Measure the spring free length. Replace if necessary.
Service Limit: 15.50 - 15.25 in
Inspect each spring isolator for cracks, tears, and brittleness.
Replace as needed.

STRUT AXLE
Place the strut axle in V-blocks and measure the runout.

Actual runout is 1/2 the total indicator reading
Service Limit: 0.02 in

STRUT CAP
Inspect the strut cap bushings. Blow the bushings clean and
dislodge any abrasive particles imbedded in the bushings. A
straight strut axle should pass easily through both bushings
with little to no radial movement. Replace bushings as
needed.
