6. Start the inner jam nut onto the clutch adjustment screw,
and turn the screw counter-clockwise until the inner jam nut is
captured by the slave cylinder. Continue turning the
adjustment screw until the slave cylinder piston bottoms out.
7. Turn the adjustment screw clockwise 1-1/2 turns.
8. Start the outer jam nut onto the clutch adjustment screw.

9. Bleed the clutch system (see BLEEDING CLUTCH
SYSTEM page 10-3) .
10. Adjust the clutch freeplay (see ADJUSTING CLUTCH
FREEPLAY page 10-4) .
11. Install gear shifter assembly (see GEAR SHIFTER
INSTALLATION page 11-4) .
12. Fill the engine case with oil (see ENGINE OIL page 1-3) .
TORSIONAL COMPENSATOR
REMOVAL
1. Remove the outer primary cover (see OUTER PRIMARY
COVER REMOVAL page 9-2) .
2. Remove the alternator rotor (see ALTERNATOR ROTOR
REMOVAL page 16-7) .
3. Before removing the torsional compensator, check the
condition of the compensator springs. Grasp the driven ramp
and try to move it in either direction along the crankshaft. The
driven ramp should not move under the compensator spring
preload. If the driven ramp is loose, replace the compensator
springs.
