INSPECTION
Inspect the condition of the exhaust headers. Severe dents,
kinks, and cracks in the pipe will reduce the engines ability to
evacuate exhaust gasses properly, reducing engine
performance.
Check the condition of the exhaust header mounting studs.
Make sure they are not bent, and that the threads are not
damaged.
Inspect the exhaust header flange for cracks.
Replace componants as needed.

INSTALLATION
Install the exhaust support bracket.
Install new exhaust gaskets in the cylinder heads.
Insert the front exhaust assembly from the rear of the
motorcycle, and slide the header flange over the exhaust
studs.
Start the header mounting nuts onto the exhaust studs.
Start the muffler mounting bolts into the muffler.

Slide the rear exhaust assembly over the exhaust studs.
Start the header mounting nuts onto the exhaust studs.
Start the muffler mounting bolts into the muffler.
Hold the front exhaust assembly in position squarely with the
motorcycle. Working from front to back, tighten all the
assembly fasteners.
Torque:
Repeat this procedure for the rear exhaust assembly.

Notice
If the muffler has been removed from the header, tighten
the muffler clamp bolt only after tightening the exhaust
header flange nuts, and before tightening the muffler
mounting bolts.
Make sure muffler clamp bolts and muffler mounting bolts are
straight and the threads are in good condition.
Torque:
1. MUFFLER CLAMP 2. CLAMP BOLT
