MEASURE IGNITION FUSE VOLTAGE

Remove the cover on fuse connector P30 and remove the 
ignition fuse. Clean the fuse blades and sockets if necessary. 
Measure the voltage between P30B-E and motorcycle 
ground. Is the value less than the measured battery voltage?

• Yes - Repair wiring. Reinstall the ignition fuse and the fuse 

connector cover. Clear the fault codes and run the engine. 
If the fault reoccurs, continue.

• No - Reinstall the ignition fuse and fuse connector cover, 

then continue.

MEASURE MAIN SWITCH VOLTAGE

Disconnect the harness from the main switch (P29). Measure 
the voltage at the main switch input (P29B-A). Is the value 
less than the measured battery voltage?

• Yes - Repair wiring. Reconnect the harness, clear the fault 

codes, and run the engine. If the fault reoccurs, continue.

• No - Continue.

INSPECT MAIN SWITCH

With the main switch in the On position, is there continuity 
between the main switch input (P29A-A) and On position 
output (P29A-C)?

• Yes - Reconnect the harness and continue.

• No - Replace the main switch. Reconnect the harness, 

clear the fault codes, and run the engine. If the fault 
reoccurs, continue.

INSPECT TILT SWITCH

Disconnect the harness from the tilt switch (P17). Move the 
main switch to the 

On

 position. Measure the voltage at the tilt 

switch input (P17B-3). Is the value less than the measured 
battery voltage?

• Yes - Repair wiring. Reconnect the harness, clear the fault 

codes, and run the engine. If the fault reoccurs, continue.

• No - Move the main switch to the 

Off

 position and continue.
