7. Finish the valve guide bores. Use liberal amounts of
cutting oil to prevent ream chatter.
Tool: Valve guide reamer EH-6999-0032
Notice
Insert the reamer form the combustion chamber side of
the valve guide. Rotate the reamer clockwise.
8. Clean the head thoroughly to remove any metal particles.

VALVE SEAT REFACING
Tool: CONTACT AREA TOO HIGH 1.Use a 32° cutting tool
to lower the seat. Refinish the seat to the specified seat width
with a 45° finish cutter.
Caution
Grind the seat only as much as necessary to obtain the
desired specification.
2. Lap valve seat (see LAPPING VALVE SEAT page 6-19) .

CONTACT AREA TOO LOW
1. Use a 60° cutting tool to raise the seat. Refinish the seat
to the specified seat width with a 45° finish cutter.
Caution
Grind the seat only as much as necessary to obtain the
desired specification.
2. Lap valve seat (see LAPPING VALVE SEAT page 6-19) .

UNEVEN SEAT WIDTH/SEAT FACE DAMAGE
3. Use a 45° cutting tool to remove any pitting or
irregularities from the valve seat.
