INSPECTION ROD BEARING JOURNAL (CRANKSHAFT)
Inspect the both sides crankshaft rod bearing journals for
scratches, wear or damage.
Measure the rod bearing journals using a 2-3 in. micrometer.
The first measurement should be taken at the 12 and 6
O’clock position.
The second measurement should be taken at the 3 and 9
O’clock position.
Standard: 2.0468 +-.0004
Service Limit: 0.0000
Notice
If the crankshaft is outside of the service limit or has
scratches, wear or is damaged it will need to be turned
down or replaced and new bearings installed.
Rod bearings are available in the following sizes;
• 0.00 in. (Standard)
• - 0.10 in.
• - 0.20 in.

Notice
Before dissembling or cleaning make sure all
components of the rods and bearing assemblies are
clearly marked and will not be removed when any of the
components are cleaned.
Disassemble and clean the connecting rods and bearings
with clean solvent. Make sure to keep all components of each
rod assembly
Install the connecting rod bearings into the connecting rod
and connecting rod cap.
Apply Plastigage onto the crankshaft rod journals.
