Remove the backup heater thermal protector sensor from the backup heater.

Submerge the backup heater thermal protector sensor in water.
DANGER: RISK OF BURNING/SCALDING

Heat the water above 90°C.

Measure the temperature of the water. The backup heater thermal protector
MUST trip at a temperature of approximately 90°C.
