Media Fill and Prime
User Action
System Auto Sequence
Scenario 1
User selects Media Addition.
A window pops up for the user to enter the desired Media Addition
Volume and Media Addition Flow Rate.
Media Fill/Prime Phase steps are repeated starting from “Orange
pinch valve is de-energized”.
Scenario 2
User confirms Media Fill/Prime is complete
Resets Phase totalizer.
Runs recirculation pump clockwise at FBR Loop Prime Recirculation
Pump Flow Rate until the FBR Loop Prime Volume is reached.
Sets recirculation pump to Operator mode.
Prompts user to confirm loop is primed or to jog pump until priming
is complete.
User jogs pump if desired then confirms
prompt when done.
Subtracts the FBR Loop Volume from the current MCV volume.
Prompts user to confirm MCV volume.
User confirms MCV volume.
De-energizes red pinch valve.
Prompts user that the phase is complete and phase button is grayed
out.
User confirms phase completion prompt.

User initiates Media Conditioning at the HMI.
Phase window pops up for the user to enter the following setpoints:
• Agitator Setpoint (rpm)
• Recirculation Pump Setpoint (mL/min.)
• MCV Temperature (°C)
• FBR Temperature (°C)
• Air MFC setpoint (SCCM)
• O
2
MFC Setpoint (SCCM)
• CO
2
MFC Setpoint (SCCM)
• Stabilization Duration (min.)
User enters setpoints.
• Agitator Setpoint 100 (rpm)
• Recirculation Pump Setpoint 120 (mL/min.)
• MCV Temperature 38 (°C)
• FBR Temperature 37 (°C)
• Air MFC setpoint 95 (SCCM)
• O
2
MFC setpoint 0 (SCCM)
• CO
2
MFC Flow Rate 5 (SCCM)

User selects the play button.
Recirculation pump, FBR temperature equipment module, MCV
temperature equipment module, Agitator, Air, O

, and CO

mass flow
controllers are active with automated control according to phase
setpoints.
Starts stabilization duration timer and display countdown timer.
Starts exhaust filter heater automated control until shutdown is
initiated.
When stabilization duration timer has elapsed, prompts the user to
perform applicable sensor calibration, as required.
User performs sensor calibration manually
by selecting Probe Calibrations at the HMI,
confirms prompt when complete.
User confirms that system parameters
are equilibrated by verifying steady state
conditions in the Trends window.
Equipment modules and control modules remain in automated
control during calibration.
Prompts user that the phase is complete.
User acknowledges phase completion prompt.
Phase button is grayed out.
Applicable equipment and control modules remain active with
automated control until the user initiates the next sequence phase.
