Remove the device from its package and install it directly into the blade server without
setting down the device. If it is necessary to set down the device, put it back into its
static-protective package. Do not place the device on the blade server cover or on a
metal surface.

Take additional care when handling devices during cold weather. Cooling reduces
indoor humidity and increases static electricity..
4.1.3
Returning a device or component
If you are instructed to return a device or component, follow all packaging instructions, and
use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
4.2
Removing the blade server from a Bull Blade Chassis -
Enterprise
Remove the blade server from the Bull Blade Chassis - Enterprise to access options,
connectors, and system-board indicators.

Attention:
•
To maintain proper system cooling, do not operate the Bull Blade Chassis - Enterprise
without a blade server, expansion unit, or blade filler installed in each blade bay.
•
When you remove the blade server, note the bay number. Reinstalling a blade server
into a different bay from the one where it was removed might have unintended
consequences. Some configuration information and update options are established
according to bay numbers. If you reinstall the blade server into a different bay, you
might have to reconfigure the blade server.
Perform the following procedure to remove the blade server.

If the blade server is operating, shut down the operating system.
