Description
Property
Percentage of light striking the glass that bounces off rather than being absorbed or
passing through (transmittance). Enter a value between 0% and 50%.
Reflectance
Measurement of how much a ray of light bends when entering the glass. Select a
predefined index, or select Custom to specify an index number between 0 (no refrac-
tion) and 5 (most refraction).
Index of Refraction
Relative amplitude of bumps in the surface of the glass. Enter 0 to make the surface
flat. Enter higher decimal values (up to 1.0) to increase the depth of the surface irreg-
ularities.
Roughness
Bump pattern to use on the finished surface. A bump pattern defines raised and
lowered areas based on dark and light areas of an image file. To define a custom
Bump Pattern
bump pattern, select Custom. See
Specifying an Image File for a Render Appearance
on page 485.
Glazing Properties
You can define the following properties for glazing materials on the
on page 486.
Description
Property
Color of the glazing. (Transmittance refers to the light that passes through the glazing.)
Select a predefined glazing color, or select Custom to specify a color. See
on page 485.
Color (Transmittance)
Percentage of light striking the glass that bounces off again (like a reflection) rather
than being absorbed or passing through (transmittance). Enter a value between 0%
and 50%.
Reflectance
Number of sheets of glass in the glazing system that are modeled in the geometry
and rendered in images. Enter a number between 1 and 4.
Sheets of glass
Masonry/CMU Properties
You can define the following properties for masonry or CMU materials on the
the Materials dialog.
Description
Property
Type of masonry material.
Type

on page 485.
Color
Texture of the finished surface.
Finish
Bump pattern to use on the finished surface. A bump pattern defines raised and
lowered areas based on dark and light areas of an image file. To define a custom
Bump Pattern
bump pattern, select Custom. See
Specifying an Image File for a Render Appearance
on page 485.
