
To select only elements that are completely within the boundary of the box, drag the cursor
from left to right. To select any elements that are wholly or partially within the boundary of
the box, drag the cursor from right to left.

Filter.
The Filter dialog lists all categories of the elements that are currently selected. The Count column
indicates the number of selected elements in each category. At the bottom of the dialog, Total
Elements displays the total number of elements currently selected.

Specify the categories of elements to include in the selection:

To exclude all elements in a category, clear its check box.
■
To include all elements in a category, select its check box.
■
To select all categories, click Check All.
■
To clear all categories, click Check None.
When you select or clear the check boxes, Total Elements updates to display the new number
of selected elements. This total also displays in the selection count on the status bar.

Click OK.
The selected elements now include only the categories specified in the filter. The selection count on the
status bar (
) displays the total number of selected elements.
Selecting Chains of Walls and Lines
If multiple elements (such as walls, lines, or both) are joined together in a continuous chain, you can select
the entire chain. The chain can include different types of elements.
To select a chain of walls or lines

Highlight any one of the elements in the chain.

Revit Architecture highlights all elements in the chain.

Click to select the entire chain.
