v. Lower the z stage to make clearance for the tip ATR and then push the
ATR all the way into the objective until it “clicks” into place.
w. Using the z stage focus knobs, raise the z stage until the ATR is close
to the polycarbonate sample then while watching the contact alert LED
indicators, continue raising the z stage until the red contact LED turns
ON.
x. Lower the z stage enough to pull the ATR out, into view mode. DO NOT
move the X or Y stage positions.
y. Slide the Ge tip out until it “clicks” into place (view mode).
z. Using the z stage focus knobs, raise the z stage until the polycarbonate
slide in is focus and observe where the “footprint” of the Tip ATR is
located
. If centered on the binocular viewer reticle square or on the
crosshair in the Microview window, continue with step 45cc otherwise
continue with step 45aa.
