31. Lower the z stage.
32. Remove the sample holder and slide.
Remove the slide from the sample holder
and then remove the sample holder and set aside.
33. Remove the X-Y manual stage and set aside.
34. Switch the microscope to transmission mode and focus the condenser.
For
iN5’s connected to an iS10, focus for maximum IR throughput.
35. While observing the interferogram in Experiment Setup, reinstall the main
cover. Lift the cover up so the points of the cover shown below are level with
the left-side of the frame and then turn the center screw enough to secure the
cover without losing signal.
Then, while continuing to observe the interferogram,
slowly snug and then tighten all screws in a cross pattern ensuring signal is not
significantly reduced, until the gap between the cover and frame is minimized.
Note
The cover at the point above the objective should not rest on the objective or
throughput will be compromised. A piece of paper should fit between the objective
and cover if installed correctly.
