5.7    Amplitude compression 

This function automatically controls the amplitude of the oscillator signal applied to the equipment under 

test. By correcting for the frequency characteristics of the system being measured, measurement can be 

performed with a constant amplitude applied to the DUT. 

 

As illustrated in 

Figure 5-12

, this instrument can automatically adjust the oscillator amplitude so that the 

amplitude of the output of the equipment under test (EUT) A1 remains constant for the measurement, 

regardless of the frequency characteristics of A1.

An example of measuring impedance is illustrated in 

Figure 5-13

. Regardless of the frequency 

characteristics of the DUT or EUT, the measurement can be performed with a constant voltage amplitude 

applied to the DUT itself. If amplitude control is performed for the output of CH2, measurement can be
