Purging the Instrument
Follow the procedures below to clean the microplate washer. Each step
can be performed using one of the one-touch maintenance programs or
a similar user-defined program.
To purge the instrument
1. Prime each inlet used with sterile water to remove the last wash
buffers used.
2. Clean each inlet with a cleaning solution using the one-touch
Clean program.
The one-touch Clean program cleans and decontaminates
internal fluid paths. The system primes with the cleaning
solution, pauses for 5 minutes to allow the cleaning solution to
soak in the system, and follows with 3 rinse cycles using the rinse
solution. The default program uses the red inlet for cleaning and
the green inlet for rinsing. The system is purged at the end of this
program.
3. Purge all fluid from the system.
4. For long-term storage, Prime each inlet with an empty bottle to
remove all fluids from the system.
CAUTION! All maintenance programs must be run with a wash head
installed.
CAUTION! If using decontaminant solutions other than AquaMax
Sterilant, consult the chemical compatibility table ( Table B-1 on
page 113 ) to verify that the decontaminant solution will not cause
damage to the instrument.
Note: Reservoir bottles can be autoclaved without the caps. The caps
cannot be autoclaved.
