Obstruction to the motion of the wash head:

Turn off the power to the washer and then remove
any obstructions from the path of the wash head.

Incorrect plate definition

•

Verify that plate height and well depth in the plate
library match the plate in use. If necessary, re-
calibrate the well depth using the Auto feature
according to

Plate Definition Dialog on page 72

Improper alignment between the wash head and plate
carriage:

•

The dispense/aspiration probes should be aligned
to the center of the wells. If they are not, please
contact Technical Support.

“Y-Motor Pinch”
Error.

Turn off the power to the washer and then remove
any obstructions from the path of the plate
carriage.

The plate carriage home sensor might be
malfunctioning:

•

Turn off the instrument and remove the wash head.

•

Slide the plate stage forward to reveal the plate
carriage home sensor on the left side of the prime
trough (see

Figure 6-1

•

Use a lint-free paper towel to dry the interior and
the region around the sensor.

•

When the sensor is completely dry, turn on the
instrument again.

Note:

If the error persists, the sensor might need

to be replaced. Please contact Technical Support.
