Keysight 5500 SPM User’s Guide

The procedure for setting up the components is as follows.

Connect AFM Controller as HEB as in normal Contact mode.

Connect a SECM module to the microscope base, then connect the
module to HEB with the standard 44-pin cable.

Assemble the 5500 SECM nose cone (details below).

Insert assembled nose cone into scanner.

Mount the scanner in the base and align the laser to the cantilever
and detector in air, again, just as in standard Contact mode.

Assemble the EC cell as described in

Assembling and Loading the

Liquid Cell

above. Ensure there is enough gap between the tip and

sample plate to avoid damaging the tip when placing the sample
plate in position.

Approach tip to sample and run AFM/SECM imaging.
