Error Messages
POST Message Description
1803 No more memory (above 1 MB) is available for PCI adapters.
Action: Remove the failing PCI or Micro Channel adapter, or
remove or manually reconfigure the Micro Channel adapters
until the problem disappears. If the problem persists, have
the system serviced.
1804 No more memory (below 1 MB) is available for PCI adapters.
Action: Remove the failing PCI or Micro Channel adapter, or
remove or manually reconfigure the Micro Channel adapters
until the problem disappears. If the problem persists, have
the system serviced.
1805 PCI option ROM checksum error.
Action: Remove the failing PCI adapter. If the problem
persists, have the system serviced.
1962 No valid boot devices found. The system cannot find the
startup drive or operating system.
Action: Be sure that the drive you want to start from is in the
startup sequence.
1. Select Start Options from the Configuration/Setup Menu.
If you are unable to set the startup sequence, have the
system serviced.
2. Check the list of startup devices in the Startup device
data fields. Is the drive you want to start from in the
startup sequence?
Yes Exit from this screen; then select Exit Setup to exit
the Configuration/Setup menu. Go to step 3.
No Follow the instructions on the screen to add the
drive; then save the changes and exit the
Configuration/Setup menu. Restart the system.
3. Is an operating system installed?
Yes Turn off the system. Go to step 4.
No Install the operating system in your system; then
turn off the system.
4. Wait at least 5 seconds; then turn on the system. During
system startup, watch for messages indicating a hardware
problem.
If the same error message appears, have the system serviced.
