Installing Memory-Module Kits
Installing Memory-Module Kits
Adding memory to your server is an easy way to make programs
run faster. You can increase the amount of memory in your server
by installing memory-module kits.
Your server uses 72-pin, Error Correction Code on SIMM (EOS),
single inline, memory modules to increase system memory. EOS
provides increased system reliability by detecting single-bit memory
errors and correcting them in real time, without reducing system
performance.
You install memory-module kits into connectors on a memory riser
card inside the server. The memory riser card that comes with your
server contains at least two 16 MB memory-module kits preinstalled
in bank 0. You can replace these memory-module kits with larger
capacity memory-module kits to increase the server memory. You
can also increase server memory by installing additional
memory-module kits on the memory riser card.
