Error Messages
POST Error Message Table
The following table shows error messages that might appear on the
screen during the power-on self-test (POST).
Notes:
1. The actions for some of the messages require you to start
the system programs. (For instructions, see “Using the
System Diskettes” on page 164.)
2. The actions for some of the messages require you to start
the Configuration/Setup utility program. (For
instructions, see “Starting the Configuration/Setup Utility
Program” on page 151.)
3. If a password prompt appears with a POST message,
type the administrator or power-on password; then press
Enter
.
POST Message Description
101

106 A failure occurred during testing of the system board and
microprocessor.
Action: Turn off the system, wait 30 seconds, then turn it
back on. If the error message reappears, have the system
serviced.
114 An adapter ROM (read-only memory) error occurred.
Action: Start the system programs and run the Test the
Computer program to determine the cause of the problem and
the action to take. If the error message reappears, have the
system serviced.
151 The real time clock has failed.
Action: Start the system programs and run the Test the
Computer program to determine the cause of the problem and
the action to take.
