3. Make sure that the address jumper on the back of the backplane
is set to E (see “Setting the Backplane Address Jumper (J2)” on
page 273).
Note: When you daisy chain two banks in a disk-array model,
you must start the ServeRAID configuration program and
specify which channel the banks are connected to. You
must also define the SCSI IDs for each bank as LO or HI.
(See “Changing the ServeRAID Adapter Parameters” on
page 124 for more information.)
4. Install the backplane at the rear of bank E (see step 4 on
page 242).
5. Install a power cable that connects the backplane to the
additional power supply.
6. Connect a SCSI cable from the SCSI-2 adapter to the new
backplane.
Use one of the following examples to help you route the cables
properly. See step 12 on page 246 for additional examples.

Example 1 : A non-disk-array model contains drives in bay
B, and banks C, D, and E.
A 16-bit SCSI cable connects the drive in Bay B to the
CD-ROM drive, then to the output connector on the
backplane in bank C. An internal SCSI cable connects the
input connector on the backplane in bank C to the internal
16-bit SCSI-2 connector on the system board. Internal SCSI
cables connect the SCSI-2 input connectors on the
backplanes in bank D and bank E to SCSI-2 adapters. A
DASD status cable (also known as a system status cable)
connects to the backplanes in banks C, D, and E.
Note: In this example, the external connectors on the system
board and the adapters are available for use.

Example 2 : A disk-array model uses separate SCSI cables
to connect from the ServeRAID adapter in a PCI expansion
slot to banks C, D, and E. The DASD status cable (also
known as a system status cable) connects the adapter to the
backplane in bank C, and continues to the DASD status
connector on the backplanes in bank D and bank E.
