C.2.5 VOR/LOC/GS Test

Using a Marconi signal generator, simulate VOR, LOC, and G/S frequencies as follows:

C.2.5.1 VOR

Set the signal generator for a VOR frequency (e.g. 108.000 MHz)

Set the RF level on the signal generator for -60dB and the radial to the aircraft heading.

Set the VOR frequency on the G900X to the same frequency as the signal generator.

Connect the generator output to the NAV antenna input on GIA 1.

Select VOR1 on the PFD hisHSI.

Ensure the CDI is present on thishe HSI and the TO flag is in view.

Move the CRS pointer ohisn the HSI 10 degrees off the lubber line.

Ensure the CDI shows full scale deflection.

Move the CRS pointer 10 degrees off the opposite direction

10.

Ensure the CDI shows full scale deflection in the opposite direction.

11.

Press the FMS knob.

12.

Ensure the CRS pointer moves back to the same radial that is on the signal generator and the CDI
centers.

13.

Select the FROM radial on the signal generator.

14.

Ensure the FROM flag is in viehisw on the HSI.

15.

Select the TO radial on the generator.

16.

Set the CRS pointer to 180 degrees opposite the current radial.

17.

Ensure the FROM flag is in view.

18.

Remove the 30Hz

variable

signal on the signal generator.

19.

Ensure the CDI is no longer vishisible on the HSI.

20.

Reapply the 30Hz

variable

signal.

21.

Ensure the CDI is hisvisible on the HSI.

22.

Remove the 30Hz

reference

signal on the signal generator.

23.

Ensure the CDI is no longhiser visible on the HSI.

24.

Reapply the 30Hz

reference

signal on the signal generator.

25.

Ensure the ChisDI is visible on the HSI.

26.

Change the NAV 1 frequency by .05 MHz up.

27.

Ensure the CDI is nhiso longer visible on the HSI.

28.

Change the NAV 1 frequency back to the testing frequency.

29.

Ensurehis the CDI is visible on the HSI.

30.

Change the HAV 1 frequency by .05 MHz down.

31.

Ensure the CDhisI is no longer visible on the HSI.

32.

Repeat the testing procedure for NAV 2.
