Software, Configuration, and Calibration
Software for the G900X/G950 should be downloaded from my.Garmin.com. If you have not received a
user ID and password, please contact the certified Garmin distributor which you purchased the system
through to have your account set up.
NOTE
Garmin recommends the use of SanDisk or Toshiba SD cards to load G900X/G950
software and configuration files. If software loading problems occur when using another
brand of card, replace the card with a SanDisk or Toshiba card and reattempt the software
load. For software loading, a minimum of 64 MB is recommend.
15.1 Configuration
Mode
Configuration mode exists to provide the installer or technician with a means of configuring, checking,
and calibrating various G900X/G950 sub-systems. Troubleshooting/diagnostics information can also be
derived from this mode. To complete this aircraft checkout, a basic understanding of the G900X/G950
configuration mode is required.
To start the system in Configuration mode:
1. Press and hold the ENT key on PFD #1 while applying power to PFD #1.
2. Release the ENT key after ‘INITIALIZING SYSTEM’ appears in the upper left corner of PFD.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for PFD #2 (if installed).
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the MFD.
4. It is required to have all displays in the same mode.
NOTE
Except where specifically noted, configuration settings for each LRU must be adjusted on
PFD #1.
