15.3.9 Synthetic Vision (if applicable)
The Garmin Synthetic Vision feature requires GDU software version 9.01 or later to be installed with the
software/configuration image prior to activation. The Garmin Synthetic Vision feature requires 9 arc-
second high resolution terrain databases to function. Each display must be equipped with the
P/N 010-00330-43 ‘SD Card, GDU 10xx, Supp, SVS’ card installed in the lower slot.
The following unlock card is required to activate the SVS feature:

NOTE
When Synthetic Vision is enabled for the first time, the G900X/G950 writes its unique
system ID to the physical card and locks the files to the unique ID. This prevents the
Synthetic Vision unlock card from ever being used to activate Synthetic Vision in other
G900X/G950 systems. The unlock card is forever tied to the specific aircraft in which it
was used for the first time. This card MUST be kept with the aircraft for situations where
Synthetic Vision must be re-activated.
Synthetic Vision does not need to be enabled on each display – only PFD1 as with
TAWS and Chartview. The other displays need to be in configuration mode.
