To set the M-Mode sample gate

In M-Mode, the region of interest is the image data that the transducer acquires along
the vertical line between the brackets of the green overlay in the 2D scout image. This
line is called the sample gate.

Begin acquiring data in M-Mode. See

"M-Mode image acquisition"

Position your transducer to display your region of interest in the center of the 2D

scout window.

While watching the 2D scout window, drag the sample gate to the desired position.

To change the size of the gate, tap and drag one end of the gate, or use a pinch. The

Gate Size

button can also be used.

After you change the position or size of the gate, the system will pause briefly to apply
the new settings, and then restarts acquisition.

To change the gain

Gain refers to amplifying the intensity of the returning sound waves on the screen
display. Increasing the gain brightens the image. Decreasing the gain darkens the
image. Use the gain control to adjust the visual intensity of the signal.

As you adjust the master gain control the Time Gain Compensation (TGC) controls
are displayed. During image acquisition, each slider adjusts the ultrasound signal to
compensate for minor attenuation as it returns through deeper situated tissue.

Slide the control to the right to boost the signal and brighten the image data in that
horizontal band, and left to attenuate the signal and darken that band.
