17. R otate second-third shifter fork upward and out of
case.
18. Remove the bottom detent plug and short detent
spring from case.
19. Separate clutch gear from output shaft and remove
output shaft assembly (Fig. 7B-10B); tilt spline end of shaft
downward and lift gear end upward and out of case.

NOTE:
First and reverse sleeve and gear m ust pass
through notch at right rear end of case.
20. Remove clutch gear through top of case.
21. Remove both shifter fork shafts (Fig. 7B-11B).
22. Remove countergear (with tool in place), thrust
washers and roll pin.
