3. Remove sun gear assembly from drive shell.

4. Remove sun gear to drive shell front retaining ring

(fig. 7A-92B). Discard retaining ring.

5. If bushing is to be replaced, refer to Figure 7A-104B.

Inspection

Check gear and sun gear shell for damage or wear.

Assembly

1. Install new sun gear to drive shell front retaining ring.

2. Install sun gear assembly into drive shell.

3. Install sun gear to drive shell flat steel thrust washer.

4. Install new sun gear to sun gear drive shell retaining

ring.
