B.8 The System-Related Commands
FETCh?
Transfer readings stored in memory by the INITiate command to output buffer where you are able
to read them into your bus controller.
READ?
Change the state of the triggering system from the “idle” state to “wait-for-trigger” state. The
meter will start to make measurements when a required triggering condition is met after the
READ? command is received. Measurement readings are sent to the output buffer immediately.
DISPlay {OFF|ON}
Turn off or on the display.
DISPlay?
Query the display setting. Returns “0” (OFF) or “1” (ON).

Show a message on the front panel display. The allowed message can be up to 16 characters in
the lower row display; any additional characters will be truncated.

Query the message sent to the front panel display.
DISPlay:TEXT:CLEar
Clear the message shown on the front panel display.

Issue a single beeping tone.
SYSTem:BEEPer:STATe {OFF|ON}
Disable or enable the beeper.
SYSTem:BEEPer:STATe?
Query the beeper mode. Returns “0” (OFF) or “1” (ON).
SYSTem:ERRor?
Query the multimeter’s error queue. Up to 20 errors can be stored in the queue. Errors are
retrieved in first-in-first-out (FIFO) order. Each error string may contain up to 80 characters.
