Creating, storing, and performing operations on configuration
lists and indexes
To create a configuration index, you need to:
•
Create a new configuration list and give it a name or use a specific configuration list that already
exists on the instrument
•
Configure the instrument with the settings that you want to store in a configuration index
•
Store the active settings into a configuration index on the specified configuration list
After you store configuration indexes to a configuration list, you can do the following operations on a
specific configuration index:
•
Recall a configuration index and restore the stored settings to the active state
•
View the contents of a configuration index
•
Delete a configuration index or delete the entire configuration list
You can work with configuration lists from the front panel (see
Using the front panel for configuration
(on page 4-89)) or by using remote commands (see
(on page 4-95)).
Recall source configuration lists before measure configuration lists. This order ensures that
dependencies between source and measure settings are properly handled.
Using the front panel for configuration list operations
This section describes how to store the active settings to a specific index on a configuration list.
See
What is a configuration index?
(on page 4-84) for information about how the instrument adds
configuration indexes to configuration lists before reading this section.
The following topics provide information to:
•
Create an example measure configuration list named
MyMeasList
.
•
Store two example configuration indexes on
MyMeasList
. The following table provides
information about specific settings for each configuration index.
•
View the contents of a specific configuration index.
•
Recall a configuration index from
MyMeasList
.
This example creates a measure configuration list; however, you can use the same process to create
a source configuration list.
