Changing the logo displayed on a PCS 57x and PCS 56x

Rename the graphic file to
logosmall.png
and copy this file into the ftp directory on the Call Server
(for information on how to access the ftp directory please refer to the Admin Access to a Call Server
from page 273 for further details).

Telnet on to the Call Server (as described in the Root Access to a Call Server section from page

cd /SpliceCom/ftp

ls
and ensure your logosmall.png file is available here

cd /SpliceCom

mkdir pcs5xx
(you can use
ls
here to ensure the directory has been created)

cd pcs5xx

mkdir logos
(you can use
ls
to ensure the directory has been created)

mv /SpliceCom/ftp/logosmall.png logos/logosmall.png
(you can change to the logos directory and check that the file has been moved to here.)

cd /SpliceCom

/SpliceCom/pcs5xx_customise pcs5xx pcs5x1-256M.site
(for the PCS 572/562 phones)
or
/SpliceCom/pcs5xx_customise pcs5xx pcs5xx-256M.site
(for the PCS 570/560 phones)

You will receive a message indicating that the customisation file is ready for the upgrade.

The logo displayed within the Home screen will now change when an upgrade is performed on
the handset. (For details on how to perform an upgrade (even if the software version stays the
same) please refer to the Upgrading the Software on the PCS 57x, PCS 56x, PCS 55x and PCS 542
section from page 292.)

To remove a custom logo, delete the site file and default the configuration of the phone (for further
details please refer to the Initial Configuration Boot Menu section from page 297), however this will
also default any configuration within Setnet.

Alternatively, rename the logo file, run pcs5xx_customise to create the site file and then upgrade the
phone as normal.

The logo displayed on the Home screen can be specified on a per User basis via their Logo URL
field. This will take precedence over the site file. Please refer to the Configuring a User section from
page 95 for further details.
