Medfusion® Model 3500 pump V6

Operator’s Manual

Flush feature

Some medications and infusions may require

flushing the line to remove any residual medication

or infusate. Using PharmGuard

Toolbox 2, this

feature can be enabled for certain profiles, facilitating

the pump to automatically prompt flushing the

tubing when an infusion is complete. The pump may

prompt to set a delivery time for the flush, or only to

specify a volume (depending on how the feature is

enabled). This feature is only available if enabled for

intermittent (timed) infusions (for example, Dose/

kg/Time, Volume/Time, mL/Kg/Time, etc.), and is

not available for continuous infusions. Depending

on the pump’s custom configuration, a volume

limit may have been set in the drug program using

PharmGuard

Toolbox 2.

Volume only

1. When the programmed infusion is

complete or the

activates and the pump alarms, press

. Volume is limited by the size of the

syringe being used, and may also be limited

by any custom configuration settings.

6. To begin flush delivery, press
