6.1 OPCOM3500E-2STM1/4-M
6.1.1 Appearance and functions
Appearance
Function
Provide two SFP optical interfaces. On these interfaces, you can set the interface rate to
STM-1 or STM-4 through hardware DIP switch or software configuration (higher
priority).
Provide card-level hot backup of two optical aggregation cards. If one fails, the other can
still enable the system to work properly.
An aggregation card can provide multiplexing section protection, channel protection, or
two independent lines of STM optical interface; two aggregation cards can provide
multiplexing section protection and channel protection between optical interface 1 of one
card and optical interface 1 of the other, and between optical interface 2 of one card and
optical interface 2 of the other, or four independent lines of STM-4/STM-1 optical
interface. The protection switchover time is smaller than 50ms.
Support point-to-point, link, and ring network topology.
Support inter-card protection for tributary cards.
Support VC4/VC3/VC12 level cross connection. When the optical interface rate of the
aggregation card is STM-1, it supports 20×20 VC4, 60×60 VC3, and 1260×1260 VC12
cross connection. When the optical interface rate of the aggregation card is STM-4, it
supports 32×32 VC4, 96×96 VC3, and 2016×2016 VC12 cross connection.
Support SDH line clock, external clock, and crystal oscillator as clock source of the
iTN2100. These sources provide protection by priority or by clock quality. The card
provides 2 Mbit/s or 2 MHz external clock interface, complying with the ITU-T G.813
recommendations. The 2 Mbit/s or 2 MHz external clock module can be purchased
independently.
Provide Automatic Laser Shutdown (ALS) for optical modules.
Provide E1 Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT).
Support Loss of Power (LPR) detection alarm for remote devices.
Provide ECC inband NMS channel with 3/9/12 byte.
Provide complete alarm and performance monitoring.
Provide four VCC channels.
Provide hot swapping.

The OPCOM3500E-2STM1/4-M can be plugged into slots 6 and 7.
